Southampton defeats Franklin netters 6-3

COURTLAND—For a second time this season, the Southampton High School boys’ tennis team defeated Franklin on Tuesday. The host Broncos fell 6-3 in the non-conference match.

The Indians were 5-1 in singles and 1-2 in doubles.



No. 1—Sam McDonald (SHS) 11-9 over Shaun Derama

No. 2— Ellis Cofield (SHS) 8-1 over Mike Lawyer

No. 3—Chip Blythe (SHS) lost 6-8 to Darryl West

No. 4—Ezzie Niles (SHS) 8-0 over William Jackson

No. 5—Cedric Everett (SHS) 8-6 over Khiry Reese

No. 6—Christian Boone (SHS) 8-4 over Neco Newsome


No.1—McDonald and Cofield (SHS ) lost 6-8 to Derama and Jackson

No. 2—Niles and Blythe (SHS ) lost 6-8 to Lawyer and West

No. 3—Trovois Evans and Jamar Vell (SHS ) 8-3 over Reese and Newsome
