FRANKLIN—A former City Parks & Recreation Department employee has been accused of buying auto parts on a city account, Franklin police said.

Eldridge E. Beale, 47, of Franklin was charged with embezzlement after allegedly buying the parts valued at less than $100 in November, Lt. Tim Whitt said.

A report was filed with police on Jan. 10.

Beale has since resigned, Whitt said.
