FRANKLIN—A 24-year-old Branchville man was arrested for allegedly having sex with a 13-year-old girl more than once between February and March, Franklin Police said.

Raymond Lee Benton Jr. was charged with rape and two counts of carnal knowledge of a child. The sex was consensual, police said.

The girl’s mother on March 13 found some suspicious text messages on her daughter’s cell phone, which led to the investigation, police said.
