Former PDCCC administrator appointed to state post

RICHMOND—Gov. Bob McDonnell has appointed Elizabeth Creamer, the former academic program coordinator for Paul D. Camp Community College, to oversee Virginia’s Workforce Development and Career Pathways System.

Creamer will help align efforts among education, commerce and trade.

Prior to her appointment, she served as assistant vice chancellor for Career Pathways and Workforce Development Programs for the Virginia Community College System. Creamer previously served as director of Career Pathways and Dual-Enrollment at Thomas Nelson Community College in Hampton.

She has led the National Science Foundation project — Creating Pathways for the New IT Professional, and has served as a board member for the National Career Pathways Network.

A non-traditional college student who earned her degree as a working mother of three, Creamer holds a bachelor’s degree from Christopher Newport University and master’s degree from Old Dominion University.
