COURTLAND—Franklin’s doubles players Asya Lee and Maura Zurfluh defeated Southampton High School’s Kiana Tines and Melia Hill 9-7 to break a 4-4 tie for a Lady Bronco win on Tuesday.

The visiting Lady Broncos took a 4-2 lead in the singles’ matches; Franklin struggled to win the fifth and deciding game point.

Southampton won the third doubles match 9-7 and the second doubles match in a tiebreaker 9-8 (10-6) to even the match score at four game points each.

The Lady Broncos return seven starters from last year’s team and are led by co-captains Lee and Jeanetta Sessoms.
