Habitat ReStore manager grateful for help

To the Editor:

I just wanted to publicly thank a group of people who recently volunteered at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Franklin.

It was a group of Boy Scouts who were working on merit badges. They were from Troops 17 and 125.

It’s always dangerous when you start naming individuals because you may leave someone out. So I will just name their leaders. They were headed up by Robin Mason, Bryan Fenters, Mark Drumheller, Joyce Johnson and Kelly James.

These Scouts did a wonderful job of cleaning items and getting them displayed. They cleaned the windows at the ReStore and even did some weed-eating.

They also helped customers carry their purchases to their cars. They were all very polite and even brought their own cleaning supplies.

So you can see that they lived up to what it means to be a Boy Scout, including “being prepared.”

We have several groups who do a great job of helping us on a regular basis. They include the Southampton High School Key Club, the Rock Church of Franklin Youth Group, Franklin Baptist Church and the YMCA Leaders Club.

We couldn’t do what we do without our volunteers. And we can always use more.

Please call us at 304-9504 if you would like to help. Thank you all so much.
