COURTLAND—A Franklin man will serve one year in jail for manufacturing a controlled substance.
Fritez “Freddie” Hunt, 55, of 433 Cobb St. also was ordered to pay $1,160 in costs and placed on five years probation.
Hunt was one of eight people arrested in late January 2011 for allegedly selling crack cocaine or heroin to undercover agents. Police served search warrants at two homes, including Hunt’s, where they found a quantity of heroin consistent with distribution.
Franklin police were assisted by Virginia State Police, Newport News Police and the F.B.I. Safe Streets Task Force.
