Barbara Glover Umphlette

FRANKLIN—Barbara Glover Umphlette, 75, passed away February 28, 2012, at her residence surrounded by her family.

Born in Franklin, she was a daughter of the late Emmitt Lee and Peggy Story Glover.

She was a member of Hunterdale Baptist Church.

Barbara was predeceased by a son, Jeff Britt; two sisters, Margaret Hand and Angelena Keech; and two brothers, Franklin and Jimmy Glover.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 40 years, Robert Lee “Bob” Umphlette Sr.; daughters, Sharon Whitley, Kathy Wheeler and husband, Hank, and Angela Thompson and husband, Brad; sons, Richard Lee “Ricky” Britt and wife, Lu Anne, and Robert L. “Bobby” Umphlette Jr. and wife, Becki; sister, Inez Donaldson; grandchildren, Sandra Williams, Jenny Lee, Tiffany Davis, Jonathan Putman, Tommy Britt, Timmy Britt, Will Britt, Kimberly Scribner, Brandon Wheeler, Rick Britt, Jamie Eastwood, Brooke Thompson and Jack Thompson; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2012, at Wright Funeral Home with Rev. Howard Vinson officiating. Burial will follow at Poplar Spring Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday, March 1, at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
