We’ll do just that on Sunday when our newspaper publishes its annual Progress edition with the theme “25 Reasons We Love Western Tidewater.”

We could have featured a hundred or more, but allotted space required us to trim the list to 25. What a fun process it was, kicking around nominations among ourselves on the newspaper staff and soliciting your input.

The Progress edition is The Tidewater News’ annual report to you, our readers, on the people, places and institutions that make this community a wonderful place to live, work and play. It is possible because of the wonderful support of our advertisers. If you like the Progress edition, you can best thank us by purchasing goods and services from the merchants whose advertisements you see in the edition.

Also, we’re certain that you have your very own reasons for loving this community— many of which didn’t make our list.
