BOYKINS—Sylvia Doyle Ogburn, 87, of Boykins and formerly of Emporia, passed away on February 12, 2012.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Moses B. Ogburn; son, Michael A. Ogburn; brother, Joseph L. Doyle Jr.; sister, Eugenia D. Morris; and daughter-in-law, Patty Ogburn.

She is survived by daughter Bunnie Bryant and her husband, Lloyd; son, Stephen K. Ogburn; grandchildren Michael Bryant, Lynn Bryant and wife, Holly, Mark Bryant and wife, Marlena, Rachael Ogburn and Elizabeth Ogburn; a great-grandson, Braxton Bryant; sisters, Amelia Fernandez and Violet Stewart and husband, Bill; daughter-in-law, Diane Ogburn; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She retired as supervisor of Emporia Telephone Company after 25 years of service.

She was a member of Main Street United Baptist Church in Emporia, Va.

Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Emporia Cemetery.
