FRANKLIN—A Franklin woman was treated and released from Southampton Memorial Hospital after the car she was driving hit a deer and several trees at 12:45 a.m. Tuesday, said Virginia State Police Sgt. Michelle Anaya.

Danielle Shavon Joyner, 18, of the 31000 block of Darden Street was driving a 2001 Ford Mustang on Route 258 south of Delaware Road when crash occurred, Anaya said.

Joyner was not wearing a seatbelt. She was not cited.
