CHARLES CITY—The Franklin boys’ junior varsity basketball team on Friday ended the season with a 58-32 Tri-Rivers District win over Charles City.

The Broncos were 7-3 in the district and 9-7 overall. They won the nine out of their last 13 games after starting the season with three losses.

The junior varsity squad returned two players from last year.

“These guys made tremendous growth on and off the court this year, and that is why I coach,” said Coach Robbie Cutchins.

Friday’s game was close at halftime, but the JV Broncos team took it to another level in the second half, Cutchins said.
