COURTLAND—Dorothy Virginia Hedgepeth Wilson, 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 18, 2012, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

She was predeceased by her parents, Annie P. and George D. Hedgepeth; and a sister, Josephine H. Hancock.

Dot was an active member of Courtland Baptist Church, which she served in many capacities for many years.

She attended Fannie Webb School of Business, and worked at Union Camp Corp. and as a legal secretary in the area for many years.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 61 years, Woodrow Wilson; a son Dr. John Branton Wilson and wife, Karen; and grandson, Jonathan Andrew Wilson of Houston; a daughter, Lisa Wilson Crum and husband, Rock, of Rocky Mount, N.C.; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 21, 2012, at Courtland Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Speight officiating. Burial will follow at Southampton Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the residence.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Courtland Baptist Church.
