Cooperative Ministry grateful for donations

To the Editor:
There are no words to adequately express the gratitude we at the Franklin Cooperative Ministry feel for the outpouring of food and monetary donations during the past holiday season.
Our friends at The Tidewater News must have touched the hearts of everyone in three counties (and some cities far from here) with the article about our bare shelves because we have been overwhelmed with donations. Some came from folks who support us year-round, but many came from strangers in our area and as far as Virginia Beach. Thank you, WAVY 10.
It looks like we have enough food for six months, but history tells us that is not true. We gave out over 100 bags of food the week before Christmas and know the need will continue during the months to come.
If you brought us two cans of food or 200, $5 or $500, we appreciate your support. We cannot continue to serve the needy in our area without it.
Again, thank you for helping us to help others.
