WINDSOR—Grace J. Clay, 75, of Ivor has been identified as the person who died in a car crash at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Windsor.

Clay is believed to have suffered a medical problem before losing control of her car and veering into oncoming traffic on Route 460 in front of the Windsor Fire Department, Windsor police said. Clay’s compact car hit a pickup before spinning into a tractor-trailer and hitting it head-on. A fourth vehicle was also involved in the accident.

The driver of the pickup, who police did not identify, told police he saw Clay slumped over while behind the wheel, and it appeared she was unconscious before her car ran into his truck, said Police Chief Vic Reynolds. Clay was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, identified only as Gerard Carter, was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No one else was seriously injured.
