Richard John Holtvoigt

BOYKINS–Chief Petty Officer Richard John Holtvoigt (U.S. Navy RET), 74, former resident of Windsor, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 1, 2012 at his residence with his family by his side.
Born in Piqua, Ohio, he was a son of the late John Henry and May Banning Holtvoigt. He retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years. After his retirement from the Navy, he was a marine machinist at the Naval Air Rework Facility in Norfolk. He was a member of Central Church of Christ in Smithfield.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 56 years, Lequita Joy Holtvoigt; daughters, Terry Sprankle and husband, Howard “Bill” of Windsor, VA and Diana Prosyk and husband, Mike of Kenbridge, VA; son, Gary Holtvoigt and wife, Angie of Pendleton, NC; sister, Carolyn Oldham; brother, Dan Oldham, both of Ohio; grandchildren, April Gray of Sedley, VA, Nora Ward of PA, Lequita Rankin of Kenbridge, VA and Richard Rankin of Windsor, VA; great grandchildren, Destiny, Jordan, Terry, Hannah, Olivia, Clayton, Selena, William and Justin.
A memorial service with Naval honors will be held at 7 pm Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin with Minister Marc Shafford officiating. www.wrightfuneralhome.org.
