Miziner Roberts is quite a woman.

For 75 years, Roberts played the organ for Mt. Sinai Baptist Church. Seventy-five years!

The 86-year-old was 12 when she started playing for the Ivor-area church and religiously contributed her time and effort for generations of church-goers.

What makes her story even more amazing is that Roberts never learned to read music. She never had formal training, yet she inspired many musicians and vocalists.

A mother of four, Roberts in August retired from her post at Mt. Sinai. To thank her, the church held a reception earlier this month.

She also served as organist at Holly Grove and Macedonia AME churches and Morning Star, First Gravel Hill and Sandy Mount Baptist churches.

Roberts claims God gave her the gift of music. Thanks for sharing that gift with countless others.
