SUFFOLK—A Drewryville man has been indicted in connection with an accident in Suffolk that killed his two passengers, including a Franklin woman.

Cornell Anthony Richardson, 41, was indicted on two counts of aggravated involuntary manslaughter and one county each for drunken driving, driving too fast for conditions, driving without a license, speeding, eluding police and obstructing justice.

Keiska Thornhill, 36, of Franklin died at the scene of the July 9 crash in the 1500 block of Holland Road. Laverne Crowell, 36, of Newport News died four days later at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Richardson was treated at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Suffolk police at 1 a.m. stopped Richardson for a traffic violation, but he allegedly took off when the officer got out of his car. Officers followed the car and discovered debris in the road in the 6400 block of Holland Road. The car had left the road, struck a guardrail and then a tree.
