Lucille Flythe

BOYKINS—Mrs. Lucille Flythe of Fullers Mill Road, Boykins, Va., departed this life on December 10, 2011, while peacefully resting in her home.

The Southampton County native was born July 21, 1918.

She was a member of Mount Tabor Baptist Church, where she served on the Missionary Board and Usher Board.

Mrs. Flythe was the widow of the late Gradie Flythe.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Lloyd Flythe, and daughter, Joann Flythe.

Lucille is survived by one daughter, Callie F. Williamson of Suffolk, Va.; three sons, Gradie Flythe Jr. of South Hill, Va., Jimmie Flythe of Boykins, Va., and Granger Flythe (Katie) of Chesapeake, Va.; two sisters, Mildred Peterson and Edna Davis; one brother, George Boone; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many other relatives.

A service of remembering her life will be held at noon Saturday, December 17, 2011, at Mount Tabor Baptist Church, 28668 North Main Street, Newsoms, Va., with Reverend Pamela Faison delivering the message of comfort; Reverend Jeremiah Cole is pastor.

The committal and benediction will be in Oak Grove A.M.E. Church Cemetery, Como, N.C.
