GATESVILLE, N.C.-Sheldon Ray Lassiter, 79, died Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011, at his Gatesville, N.C., home.

A funeral service was held Sunday at Gatesville United Methodist Church, followed by a private burial in Gatesville Cemetery

Mr. Lassiter retired from Stewart Saw Works in Gatesville.

Among his survivors is a sister, Mollie Burgess of Courtland.

Miller Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
