To the Editor:

When I was at Union Camp, the “go to” person at Paul D. Camp Community College was always Dr. Patsy Joyner.

While she worked with a list of distinguished presidents of the institution, she was the constant and always the enthusiastic and knowledgeable representative of the institution, where she began her extensive and successful college career.

A native, she knows the people and politics of our community and has been instrumental in broadening the college and its many services to an extended area.

It is with sadness I see this icon of the community college system depart, but with hope the great legacy she leaves will inspire her successor.
