Martha Louise Drumheller

LURAY—Martha Louise Drumheller, 94, of Waynesboro passed away Thursday, December 1, 2011, at the residence of her son, Robert of Luray, Va.

She was born July 4, 1917, in Clifton Forge, daughter of the late Cornelius Eugene Hartbarger Sr. and Vida M. Tilley Hartbarger.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William Martin Drumheller Jr.; son, Mark Windsor Drumheller; sisters, Mary Ellen Hartbarger Pawlik and Eleanor Hartbarger Gregory; and a brother, James Francis Hartbarger.

Mrs. Drumheller was a member of Basic United Methodist Church in Waynesboro, but also attended Franklin Baptist Church in Franklin, Va., while a resident there. She was also a Charter Member of the Waynesboro Sweet-Adeline Women’s Barbershop Chorus.

Survivors include her children, Wesley Mark Drumheller, Robert Bonson Drumheller, Larry Edward Drumheller, Patricia May Claiborne, William Martin Drumheller III and Georgann Ellen Lawhorne, with whom she resided for a short time; a brother, Cornelius Eugene Hartbarger Jr.; 19 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A service was conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 3, 2011, at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St. Waynesboro, Va., with the Rev. William Ricketts officiating.

A graveside service was held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, December 3, 2011, at Crown Hill Cemetery in Clifton Forge, Va.

The family received friends at the funeral home following the service.

Active pallbearers were James Griffith, Steven Bartley, Chris Drumheller, Greg Drumheller, James Matsko and Clay Bartley Jr.
