FRANKLIN—Edward “Tootie” Britt, 90, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2011, at his home.

A funeral service will be held at noon Saturday, Dec. 10, at William M. Engram Sr. Memorial Chapel in Franklin. Burial will follow at Southview Cemetery in Franklin.

A native of Southampton County, Mr. Britt was a retired custodian for the City of Franklin and Bank of America in Franklin.

He was a member of Mt. Gilead AME Church in Southampton County and later, New Hope Baptist Church in Franklin.

He is survived by his children, Frances Sumblin of Franklin, Shelia Harrell of Columbia, S.C., Sandra Britt at home and Harrison Lee Britt of Portland, Ore.
