Jenkins paces SHS girls in win over Franklin

FRANKLIN—TaLisha Jenkins scored a game-high 22 points to lead Southampton High School to a 70-23 win over Franklin on Tuesday.

De’Mone Brickhouse add 14 points and Kaylee Harris netted 11 for the winners.

Franklin’s leading scorer was Janesha Hurdle with 10.

The Lady Indians outscored Franklin 22-2 in the second quarter and led 33-8 at the half.

Franklin committed 10 fouls to Southampton’s 13. The Lady Broncos were 2-for-13 from the free-throw line and Southampton went 6-for-15.

In other action, Southampton on Monday night lost 48-34 to Sussex.

Jenkins led in scoring with 14 points.

Sussex committed 14 fouls to Southampton’s 21. From the free-throw line, Sussex went 13-for-34 and Southampton, 6-for-16.

Southampton is 2-2 and will host Parkview at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9. The boys game will follow and be aired on WLQM-FM.
