Virginia Beach-Frances C. Sawyer, 83, of Virginia Beach, passed away December 5, 2011 at Beth Sholom.

Born in Albarmarle County, VA, she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret Rittenhouse.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Besier (Frank), her son, Mark Sawyer (Elizabeth), grandchildren, Hannah Sawyer, Troy Cox, Rebecca Myrtle and Nicholas Hilleary, great-grandchildren Brittany Morgan, and Bodhi Deane, great great-grandchildren, Mylie and Kayleigh Morgan, a sister, Barbara Raymond (Don) and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Leonard D. Myrtle.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011 at 1 PM at Black Creek Baptist Church, 24163 Vicksville Rd., Franklin, VA with Pastor Gregory Kitts officiating.
