BOYKINS—Most of Boykins’ residents will be without water 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, so crews can replace six water valves installed in 1927.

The work was originally scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 7.

The work will take place rain or shine, said Julien Johnson, Southampton County Director of Public Utilities.

Main Street and Beaton Avenue will be closed to truck traffic while a county crew and two crews from Lewis Construction of Suffolk replace two valves where Main Street intersects with Bryant, Beaton and Railroad avenues.

For more information, Johnson can be reached at 654-6023.
