COMO, N.C.—Samuel Thomas Burbage Jr., 95, passed away on December 2, 2011.

A life long resident of Hertford County, he was the oldest of eight children of the late Samuel Thomas Burbage Sr. and Sadie Jordan Burbage.

He was predeceased by a son, Thomas Burbage.

He retired from farming when he was 84 years old and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Annie B. Gray and husband, Walter; grandsons, Walter Dailey “Dail” Gray Jr. and wife, Kiki, and Trent Burbage Gray and wife, Charlene, all of Como, N.C.; five great-grandchildren, Samuel, Phoebe, Lucy and Gracie Gray, and Lucas Vinson; and a sister, Myra B. Simmons of Chester, Va.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 4, 2011, at Buckhorn Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Thomas Caulkins officiating.
