BOYKINS—Most of Boykins’ residents will be without water 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, so crews can replace six water valves installed in 1927.

“As we replace these valves and get it going, we can turn the water on as we go,” said Julien Johnson, director of utilities for Southampton County.

Streets will be closed to truck traffic on Main Street at Beaton, Bryan and Railroad avenues from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday.
