RICHMOND—James Thomas Brown, 68, of Richmond passed Nov. 25, 2011, at Chippenham Hospital in Richmond.

A funeral was held Wednesday at St. Mary’s AME Zion Church in Courtland. Burial followed at Care Memorial Gardens in Courtland.

Mr. Brown is a Southampton County native, who worked in the construction business.

He is survived by his children, Joyce Ricks Chester, and Tamara, Christopher, Benita and Anita Brown, all of Maryland.
