To the Editor:

The Urquhart-Gillette Camp 1471 Sons of the Confederate Veterans wishes to thank all who have helped our camp’s fundraisers with your moneys, donations and support from the good people of this area to help pay down the camp’s debt on the Mahone Tavern and Museum, which was built in 1796.

Fundraisers included the camp’s auction in February, our barbecue chicken dinner in May, our fish fry in September, and your support of the camp’s Confederate stores and booth at the county fair, Heritage Day and Fall Festival.

Again, our sincere and profound thanks to you all.
