To the Editor:

I would like to direct this letter to the city department that issued a building permit for the car wash in Hunterdale located on the corner of Hunterdale Road and Lakeview Road.

It has been approximately five years since construction began, and there seems to be no end in sight. The car wash is surrounded by piles of dirt covered in grass, scaffolding, stone and junk.

I am proud to have grown up in Hunterdale, and I take a lot of pride in the community I call home. What was the city thinking when they issued an apparent open-ended building permit?

The city should do the right thing for the residents of Hunterdale and give the owner a short time to complete this project and clean up his mess.
