BRANCHVILLE–Robert Harvey “Peanut” Jones, 76, passed away peacefully at home November 19, 2011, after a long illness with Parkinson’s disease.
He was predeceased by his parents, Eddie Drumgold Jones and Frances Shell Jones and a brother, Eddie Bryant Jones. He was a member of Branchville United Methodist Church and former owner of Severn Texaco.
A loving and caring husband, father and friend, he leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of forty years, Bessie Spence Jones; daughters, Mary Popolo, Kathy Wilson, Patricia Perry, Julie Brann, Elizabeth Cobb Holliday; sons, Kenny Jones and Doug Milteer; grandchildren, Philip Shaffer, Allen Morris, Jr., Michele Perry, Jolean Brann, Justin Brann, Mecalah Bryant, Jazmine Jones, Brittany Gurganus, Brendan Milteer, Camden Cobb, Paige Cobb; great grandchildren, Ally and Lilly Morris, Addison Gurganus, Asher Bryant, and Cole Cobb; sisters, Marion Lee Clary, Erline Wright, Edith Mae Pearson; brothers, Arthur and Wayne Jones and a host of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins, VA with the Rev. Michael Baugham officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 pm at Wright Funeral Home in Boykins, VA on Monday, November 21, 2011 and suggests memorial donations be made to Branchville United Methodist Church. www.wrightfuneralhome.org.
