VIRGINIA BEACH–Isle of Wight Academy could not hold off a strong running attack by Norfolk Christian in a 45-0 loss in the Virginia Independent Schools’ Athletic Association semifinals on Friday night.

IWA was held without a first down in the opening quarter, but showed signs of life in the second. Trailing 3-0, the Chargers moved the ball to the Ambassadors’ 38-yard line, but the drive stalled.

The Chargers’ Ben Epps returned a Norfolk Christian failed field goal attempt 41 yards after the ensuing drive, but IWA was again forced to punt.

IWA again moved the ball into Ambassador territory in the fourth quarter, but the Chargers missed a field goal.

Norfolk Christian running back Jacorey Robins led all ball carriers with 261 yards on 19 carries. The senior also had three touchdowns.

IWA ended its season 7-3.
