FRANKLIN—Marvin Bland “M.B.” Pope Jr., 60, passed away November 9, 2011.

Born in Southampton County, he was a son of the late Marvin Bland and Annie Louise Bradshaw Pope and was retired from the Franklin school system where he was an elementary school teacher.

Marvin attended Franklin Baptist Church and was a member of the church choir.

Left to cherish his memory are his brother, Larry K. Pope and wife, Delores, of Zuni; niece, April DeVites; nephew, Michael Pope and wife, Jeannette; great-niece, Kalyn DeVites; and many special friends.

A graveside funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 12, 2011, in Beaver Dam Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Steve Gibson officiating.
