James Person Lowe

FRANKIN—James “Pot” Lowe, 66, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2011.

Born in Franklin, August 30, 1945, he was a son of the late Fenton Barkley Lowe and Edna Person Lowe.

He was predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Jane Holland Lowe, who passed away 11 months to the day that Jim did.

Jimmy retired from International Paper in the Technical Department and was a member of High Street United Methodist Church, Indiantown Hunt Club, and the Hunterdale Ruritan Club. Jimmy was a longtime volunteer basketball coach at the YMCA and also coached youth football and little league baseball.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Dawn Lowe Cox and husband, Scott of Capron; son, Mark Andrew Lowe and wife, Lisa, of Franklin; brother, the Honorable Frederick Barkley Lowe and wife, Nancy, of Virginia Beach; his beloved grandchildren, John Hinkle, Andrew Lowe, Ashten Hinkle, Haley Lowe, Kaylen Cales and Taylor Burgess; and two nieces, Molly Mendoza of California and Susan Toleos of Massachusetts.

A graveside service will be held Friday, November 11, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Poplar Spring Cemetery with the Rev. Susan Reaves officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home and at other times at Jimmy’s residence at 23185 Scottswood Drive, Franklin.

Memorial donations may be made to the Southampton Academy Athletic Department or Indiantown Hunt Club.
