CHESAPEAKE—William Cliff Hatcher Jr., 55, won his battle with cancer when the Lord called him home November 1, 2011, at the home of his sister surrounded by his family who loved him very much.

Cliff devoted 39 years of his life to what he loved. He was absolutely the most amazing auto body and paint technician anyone has ever known. He specialized in high performance race cars. There has been no one that came before him or will come after him that can match his ability or talent.

Left to cherish his memory are his father, William Cliff Hatcher Sr. and his wife, Reba; two daughters, Dara Gabrielle Hatcher and Shelby Louise Virginia Hatcher; three sons, William Cliff Hatcher III, William Nicholas Hatcher and Daniel Johnson; seven sisters, Elizabeth Bulluck, Susan Manke, Robin Edwards, Barbara Woods, Ashley Hatcher, Kendall Hatcher and Kristy Hatcher; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his mother, Betty Hamilton Hatcher, and a nephew, Joshua Mackenzie Woods.

A funeral will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin. Burial will follow in Southampton Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home and suggests memorials be made in Cliff’s name to your local American Cancer Society.
