COURTLAND-Joseph “J.R.” Forrest III passed away at the age of 73, on October 22, 2011, in Wasilla, Alaska.
J.R. was born on January 22, 1938 in Sebrell, VA. and was the son of the late Joseph R. Forrest Jr. and Ruby Turner Forrest.
He is survived by his sister Jean Floyd and his children Ricky, Johnny, Debbie, Jean, Dori, Mikayla, Patrick, Scott and numerous grandchildren and extended family.
J.R worked in agriculture and truck driving. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. His special hobby was racing. He grew up at the race track and continued his love for Nascar racing until he passed. J.R. was loved my many and will be greatly missed. He loved being around family and made sure they were taken care of. He was always willing to give a helping hand to anyone that needed it.
A graveside memorial service will be held at Barn Tavern Cemetery, at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2011. Services will be held by his Pastor, Gerald Parker. Wright Funeral Home, Franklin is handling the arrangements. www.wrightfuneralhome.org.
