SUFFOLK—Marvin Gilbert “Gil” Cowing, 61, of Suffolk, died Friday, Oct. 14, 2011.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011, at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk. Burial will follow in Holly Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Cowing, who was assistant manager of Dollar Tree in Smithfield, was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints, Franklin Ward.
