MURFREESBORO, N.C.-Richard Tabb Evans Jr., 73, of Murfreesboro, died Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011 at Guardian Care of Ahoskie.

A funeral was held Thursday, Oct. 13, at Murfreesboro Baptist Church. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery.

Mr. Evans was a retired buyer for W.H. Basnight & Co. in Ahoskie and a past president of the Murfreesboro Chamber of Commerce.

Among his survivors is his wife, Ann Brown Evans of Murfreesboro.

Garrett-Jones Funeral Home of Ahoskie was in charge of arrangements.
