Mrs. Missouri Hill Everett Bates of Edgewood, Md., departed this life October 8, 2011.

The Como, N.C., native was born to the late Joseph P. and Ida Naomi Hill on February 6, 1926.

She leaves to treasure her memory, nine children, Etta L. Warren (James), Garysburg, N.C., William C. Everett Jr. (Portia), Edgewood, Md., Christine Scott (Herbert), Manchester, Pa., Theresa L. Robinson (Bernard), Edgewood, Md., Janice E. Jackson (William), Bel Air, Md., Carolyn Everett, Morganton, N.C., Delphine Connelly (Gaither), Cornelius, N.C., Elton Everett, Edgewood, Md., and Terry Everett Sr. (Patience), Bowie, Md.; 38 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins; four sisters-in-law, Cora Hill, Murfreesboro, N.C., Doris Miggins, Franklin, Va., Beatrice Howard, New Jersey, Bernice Haynes, Atlanta, Ga.; and two brothers-in-law, Fletcher Everett, Newsoms, Va., and Edward Britt (Tossiey), Franklin, Va.

A visitation will be held Friday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home with a homegoing service to follow Saturday, October 15, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, 346 Boones Bridge Road, Como, NC.

The interment will be held at Mount Gilead A.M.E. Zion Church Cemetery, 32552 Monroe Road, Franklin, Va. On the day of the service, her remains will rest in church for viewing by 11 a.m.

A traditional service with dignity will be conducted by Wm. M. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home, Inc., 224 S. Main St., Franklin, Va.
