COURTLAND—A Southampton County man was arrested for allegedly assaulting and abducting the mother of his daughter at gunpoint, the Southampton County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Corey Hunt, 30, of the 29000 block of Delaware Road allegedly fought with the 20-year-old Courtland woman and physically assaulted her at the Food Lion on Saturday, said Sgt. Wanda Covington. Hunt then allegedly pulled out the gun, forced the victim into his vehicle and dropped her off near the sheriff’s office.

Hunt was charged with domestic assault and brandishing a firearm, both misdemeanors, and a felony charge of abduction. He was taken to the Southampton County Jail without bond.
