SUFFOLK—Daisy Viola Towns of 5912 Hawk Lane, Suffolk, Va., passed away Sunday, October 9, 2011, at Sentara Obici Hospital.

She was a native of Nansemond County and the daughter of the late Andrew and Lynwood Mann Chapman.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Lee Towns Sr.; her son, Willie Lee Towns Jr.; her brother, James Andrew Chapman; and sisters, Anna E. Scott and Gearldine V. Chapman.

She retired from domestic work.

She was a member of Abundant Harvest Church in Franklin, Va.

She leaves to cherish her memory: one daughter, Robin Langston (Anthony) of Corapeake, N.C.; one son, James F. Towns (Sarita) of Corapeake, N.C.; four sisters, Rosa Harris (Elbert) of Portsmouth, Va., Flora Ellen Chapman, Pastor Joyce Myrick and Gwen E. Strickland (Larry, Sr.), all of Suffolk; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held at noon, Friday, October 14, 2011, at Little Bethel Baptist Church, 6533 Everets Road, Suffolk, officiated by Pastor Joyce Chapman Myrick. Interment will be in Nansemond-Suffolk Cemetery.
