FRANKLIN—Wanda Gay Darden, 66, wife of W.L. Darden Jr., passed away October 9, 2011.

Mrs. Darden was a daughter of the late Boots and Girlyn Felton and was also predeceased by a sister, Michelle Biggs, and a brother, Kenneth Bright.

Mrs. Darden was retired office manager for Lucas Underground Cable Service.

Surviving besides her husband are two daughters, Dawn Burr and Dee-Dee Nislein; one son, Danny Nislein (Shelley); five grandchildren, Chad, Craig, Marlene, Brandon and Matthew; and one great-grandchild, Morgan.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, October 14, 2011, at Wright Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Ms. Kathy Worrell: 717 Fairview Drive, Franklin, Va., 23851.
