She prefers four challengers over incumbent supervisors

To the Editor:

Your vote on Nov. 8 can make a difference.

Southampton County has the fifth highest personal property tax rate and the 15th highest real estate tax rate out of 95 counties in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Southampton County is currently $69 million in debt.

If you are eligible to vote and have not registered, please register by the Oct. 17 deadline. On Nov. 8, registered voters of Southampton County have the opportunity to make a difference in their local governing body.

In casting your vote, I sincerely hope you will consider voting for a more conservative representation on the Board of Supervisors. Your vote for Glenn Updike, Newsoms District; Alan Edwards, Jerusalem District; Bruce Phillips, Capron District; and Barry Porter, Franklin District, will be greatly appreciated.

Let’s make a difference and go to the polls on Nov. 8 and vote for a more conservative representation.
