CARRSVILLE–Steve Allen Jones, 54, passed away September 29, 2011. Born in Suffolk, Steve was a 30 year employee of Lipton Tea Co. and co-owner of Cutting Edge Lawn Service. He was a member of Tucker Swamp Baptist Church and a former member of Pine Grove Assembly of God in Windsor where he was a deacon and Royal Ranger leader.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 35 years, Vanessa King Jones; his parents, Jimmie and Elizabeth Jones of Suffolk; a daughter, Crystal J. Boyd and husband, Chris, of Carrsville; a son, Nathan A. Jones of Suffolk; a sister, Tammie Jones of Suffolk; two brothers, Roger Jones and wife, Cathy, of Franklin and Keith Jones of Va. Beach and a granddaughter, Alanah Gayle Jones. He was predeceased by a brother, Johnny Jones.
A funeral will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, where the family will receive friends following the service. Interment will follow on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at 11 a.m. in Southampton Memorial Park. The family suggest memorials be made to any favorite charity. www.wrightfuneralhome.org.
