FRANKLIN—Fear not, band fan. The season is still quite early and Director Kalam Graham promises that the Marching Stampede will be quite visible in the weeks and months to come.

As to why the band missed the home game against Southampton High School, Graham said, “ I just took percussion and auxiliary because no instrumentalists were available. Some had to come to camp late and were not yet prepared.”

In the band are 32 members, 19 of whom are instrumentalists and 12 for auxiliary, he said.

“We will be performing at the next three home games for Franklin Broncos against Surry, King and Queen, and Charles City,” Graham said. “They’ll travel to Sussex and Windsor for the last two games of the season.”

Look for the Marching Stampede to perform a mix of halftime shows and in the stands.

“They also will be performing at homecoming parade of St. Paul’s College and Virginia State University, as well as Franklin’s Christmas Parade,” he said.
