To the Editor:

This is in reference to the letter to the editor (“Group says it has nothing to do with forum,” Sept. 25) on supervisors’ and sheriff’s forum.

The forum that took place at the Isle of Wight Skating Rink on Sept. 23 notified citizens of the southern end of the county by the circulation of fliers prior to the meeting, inviting citizens to come and ask questions and be informed. Several closed forums were held and not all candidates were invited, but this forum was open to everyone. All candidates were called and letters were sent.

The forum was opened and closed with a prayer. In attendance were Pastor Sherry Saunders, Pastor Lloyd Watson, Pastor Stanley Ricks, Pastor Willis Freeman Sr., Bishop James Ashby, Pastor Sandra Freemen, Minister Melvin Watson and citizens from Carrsville, Zuni, Windsor, Walters, Franklin and Camptown.

The forum was a great success.
