WINDSOR—Seeking to increase business, owner Mary Huffman has moved Brady’s Jewel Box from downtown Franklin to Windsor.

“I wanted to be in a more traffic area, and pull from different areas instead of just one,” said Huffman. “I scouted the area for a potential need for a fine jewelry and gift shop. I don’t think there has ever been such a place in Windsor.”

She moved the shop to 11403 Windsor Blvd., Suite C.

Brady’s opened in 1947.

“I came aboard on July 1997,” Huffman said. “I was working at SunTrust Bank. I was just interested in it, the jewelry business. I wanted a job change, a different future. I was excited when it came available.”

She purchased the business that same year.

In addition to fine jewelry, the store carries China, watches, ladies’ wallets and handbags, giftware, soaps and powders, baby items, pewter bracelets and handmade floral arrangements.

A grand opening will be held 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, through Saturday, Oct. 15. Regular store hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
