Dail leads Lady Saints to tournament sweep

ROANOKE, N.C.—Nansemond-Suffolk Academy’s girls’ volleyball team went 3-0 to win the North Cross Invitational in Roanoke on Saturday.

NSA’s Tori Dail was named tournament MVP, leading the Lady Saints in kills in all three victories. Teammates Kaylor Nash and Kela Bogaard were named to the All-Tournament Team.

The Lady Saints beat Highlands 25-22, 23-25, 15-7 in their first match. Dail had 15 kills and nine digs. Bogaard and Nash added five kills each.

NSA prevailed in another close match, beating Westover Christian 20-25, 25-20, 15-12, in its next match. Dail had eight kills and seven digs.

In a rematch from a Hampton Roads victory at NSA last Tuesday, the Lady Saints won the final over HRA 25-13, 25-20. Dail had 14 kills and seven digs with Nash getting 10 kills and eight digs.

The Lady Saints (10-3) took their winning streak to five matches on Tuesday with a four-set win against visiting Windsor, 25-18, 16-25, 25-12, 25-23. Dail had 18 kills. Sarah Leggett had 11 digs and Nash, moving from her usual hitter position, had 45 assists.
