PORTSMOUTH—Damon Goldsborrough Grimes Jr., 79, of Portsmouth died Monday, Sept. 12, 2011.

A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Boulevard Chapel.

Mr. Grimes was a retired computer programmer for the Norfolk Naval Shipyard.

Among his survivors is a son, Damon G. Grimes of Carrsville.
